#Freetown the Treetown

SL Mudslides.jpg

Freetown has been devastated by the aftermath of massive deforestation following decades of civil strife.  The deforestation has resulted in catastrophic flooding and mudslides.

We seek to spark a cultural revolution in the way Freetonians view their environment.  Disaster risk reduction is a major benefit of this initiative.

Freetown City Council (FCC),  working along with the World Bank, The Environmental Foundation for Africa (www.EFASL.org)  and Greenstand (www.greenstand.org) is providing the technology to implement and monitor this multi-year tree planting program.  Click here to learn more.
